What is Sets and the City
SATC is co-ed RoTenGo classes for adults living and working in the city. Whether you are athletic or never played sports, RoTenGo provides a new vehicle to get active, have fun and socialize.
With busy schedules and limited time, it is a challenge to incorporate exercise it our daily routines.
With group classes and social events, SATC will connect you new people, neighbors, co-workers and/or family.
If exercising before work, works better for you, we will provide early morning classes and leagues. If you prefer exercising during your lunch hour, we will also be providing those classes and leagues.
Why before work and during lunch?
University of Bristol researchers found that people’s mood significantly improves after exercising. People who exercise on work days are more productive, happier and suffer less stress than on non-gym days, Researchers also found that employees who enjoyed a workout before going to work – or exercised during lunch breaks – were better equipped to handle whatever the day threw at them. It also found that people’s general mood improved on days of exercise but they became less calm on non-exercise days. The research, published in the International Journal of Workplace Health Management, is the first of its kind to prove that exercise during work hours has mental, as well as physical benefits.
SETS AND THE CITY GET FIT CHALLENGE
Sets and the City Get Fit Challenge will allow individuals and teams to enter into a competition with other participants in the areas of steps logged, weight loss, minutes played, longest rallies, best picture, most funds raised at RoTenGothon and tournaments. A series of RoTenGothon will be held to increase opportunity to play, socialize, have fun and reach their goals. Participants will be given regular health tips, and access to random drawings and awards based on continued participation. The health and wellness challenge will kick off over the holidays- typically at a time when people gain weight and cut back on exercise. The initial program will start November 1st and continue through the End of the year.

If you are looking to meet new people while playing RoTenGo, register as an individual. Players who register as an individual will be placed either on a team comprised of all registered individuals or a team that needs extra players. If you have a group or team that would like to play at a specific time or day, please let us know.
If you want to play with certain people, but don’t have enough players to fill a full class (recommended amount is 8 to 12 depending on skill level), each player should register as an individual and list the names of the people you want to play with in your comments on the online registration form.
If you have enough players to field a team, it is recommended to register as a team.
Classes will take place at the Jesse James Leija gym at 319 West Travis Street, across for Santa Rosa Hospital. Classes will also be held at organizations and facilities, where programs are scheduled.
